Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to be a lady or old or little to be a LOLAT?
No, anyone who believes in fighting against the Trump administration’s policies can join
the LOLAT movement.
How can I make a difference, I’m just one person?
The issues we face in the U.S. (and around the world) are enormous. One small action from many individuals can add up. Together we can make a difference.
Do I have to be affiliated with a particular political party?
There is no party affiliation. Everyone is welcome. BUT, we will not post anything that is blatantly hostile to LOLATs Mission and Vision.
How do you know you’re on the right side of this moment in history?
We can only hope that we are. We do know our values: advocate for inclusiveness, compassion, human rights, etc.
What if I don’t use a computer?
Alternatives, e.g. Write to your elected officials, send a letter to the editor, make a contribution, and add LOLAT to your name.
Do I have to use my real name?
You can post on LOLAT.org anonymously, use an alias, whatever…just add LOLAT, e.g., Anonymous, LOLAT, (J.D. Vance, LOLAT, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., LOLAT – just kidding)
I don’t like the title “Little Old Lady.” Can you change the name?
Little Old Lady can be interpreted as promoting stereotypes. Part of LOLATs purpose is to demonstrate the knowledge, experience, and wisdom of old people – little or big, and embrace all those who have old people in their lives.
LOLAT provides an opportunity to debunk the stereotypical image of a Little Old Lady.
What are different ways I can get involved in LOLAT?
Post your actions on LOLAT.org
Make a LOLAT sign and take it to a rally – No Kings, Women’s March, Support for Immigrants,
Host a LOLAT gathering to explain the movement.
Keep a list of the LOLAT-type things you do – you may be surprised to see what you already do: a kind act, a monetary contribution, community involvement, etc.
